Welcome to the Tipton County Treasurer's Office
The Treasurer is an elected county government official serving a four year term. The treasurer may not serve in the office more than two consecutive terms. In that role the treasurer is custodian of all the county’s money.
Our office is committed to serving the taxpayers of Tipton County. We intend to fulfill the functions and responsibilities of the office each and every day. These are a few of the duties and obligations of our office:
Collect real estate, personal property, and mobile home taxes
Print tax bills and mail bills to mortgage companies and property owners
Collect Inheritance taxes
Hold a Treasurer’s Tax Lien Sale for delinquent Property Taxes
Reconcile bank account balances with the Daily Cash Book
Balance payroll and claim accounts/funds with the Auditor’s office
Sign all checks issued by the Auditor’s Office
Receipt allocations of excise taxes (auto, lottery, boat, aircraft)
Serve as Secretary of the County Board of Finance
Issue title transfers and moving permits for mobile homes
Certify for judgment delinquent personal property taxes and mobile home taxes
Invest county funds as Chief Investment Officer
